What are the courses that are available ?
Math Academia offers secondary school (all levels) and junior college (H1/H2) mathematics. As for secondary school, the levels include students that are in the normal academic stream as well. Every lesson is conducted by Mr Peng personally, and he does not outsource his classes to other part-time tutors just to earn passive income nor merge classes to maximise profit. For example, Secondary 1 express students will not be merged together with Secondary 1 normal academic students because the pacing and syllabus is different, and every student deserves an equal opportunity to learn.
Are there any trial lessons available ?
A trial lesson is dependent on the vacancy and size of class that you are interested in attending. You may call/sms/whatsapp 96579970 to book a seat.
What is the class size ?
The class size may vary, while classes for popular weekend slots are usually bigger. The classroom that lessons are conducted in has a seating capacity of 25-30 students. There is no need to worry about your child/you being neglected as Mr Peng makes it a point to remember every student under his charge. He frequently walks around the class to monitor and make sure that every single student in his class is focused and on task. Students are also welcomed to ask questions through whatsapp during non-tuition hours. However, do send your questions in advance as the solutions may require some lead time if Mr Peng is very busy on that day. This is to ensure that both teacher and student would have ample time in responding.
Are all the testimonials listed in the website genuine ?
Yes, all testimonials are genuine. Mr Peng has made it a point to take a photo with every graduating batch of students to prove that the student and their testimonials are authentic. Testimonials without pictures of the student will not be posted as the authenticity of the post may be questionable. Mr Peng does not use flimsy evidences such as screenshots of whatsapp messages as well as the source of the messages may not be from actual students themselves.
How do I register for the course that I am interested in attending ?
If you are interested in enrolling, please call/sms/whatsapp 96579970 with your name and the course that you‘d like to enrol in. As Mr Peng is very responsive and approachable, do not hesitate to ask questions or clarify any doubts that you may have. Enrolment is fuss free and can be done over the phone in under 5 minutes. Should you decide to not enrol after finding out more, there will not be any hardselling or pushing for enrollment – it’s that easy.
How much are the fees and what is the payment mode ?
Fees are collected at the end of every month, and payment is via cash/cheque. To find out about the fees for the specific level you are interested in, do drop Mr Peng a call or message.
Do I have access to the premise if I need a quiet and conducive place to self-study and prepare for my examinations ?
Mr Peng encourages his students to drop by the centre and fully utilise the classroom when there are no lessons being conducted. Every student is provided with a passcode which allows them special access to the centre. Bottled water and writing pads are also provided for students.
